Dunlap - Robert D. Moulton, 92, of Dunlap died at 5:08 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at his home.
Robert was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Washburn to Andrew and Minnie (Peltz) Moulton. He married Dorothy Herron on November 30, 1944, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1991.
Surviving are his grandson, Eric (Michelle) Bonham of Mahomet; son-in-law, Donald Bonham of Mahomet; three great-grandchildren, Robert, Mackenzie and Bailey Bonham; and one half brother, Jim Danhoff of Peoria.
His parents; one daughter, Lynne E. Bonham; and two sisters preceded him in death.
Robert graduated from Washburn High School and the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering. He was employed as a union carpenter and was service manager for Herron Ford in Dunlap for more than 35 years.
Robert served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He served in the European Theater in the 467 Bomb Group as a pilot, reaching the rank of first lieutenant. Robert flew 36 missions during his time in the service.
He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Dunlap Fire Department. Robert loved to dance, being in many dance clubs and frequenting many VFW dances.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Washburn. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Baptist Cemetery, Washburn, where full military rites will be accorded by the Washburn American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the donors' local VFW post.
