Trivoli - Robert E. "Bobby" Roberts, 62, of Trivoli, Ill., passed away at 4:47 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of William K. and Norma (Crowe) Roberts. He married Karen Hammond on May 18, 2012, in Peoria County.
She survives, along with his brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Roberts of Pekin; four sisters, Sharon (Danny) Northrup of Trivoli, Inez Gruber of Peoria, Starla Roberts of East Peoria and Ronda (Ernie) Brewer of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and sister, Vicki Runnels, preceded him in death.
Bobby was a member of the Bartonville American Legion and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved motorcycles.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant in Vietnam. Bobby was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for the injuries he received in Vietnam.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Farmington, where visitation will be one hour prior. Pastor Keith Webster will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Penn Ridge Cemetery, rural Trivoli.
