WASHINGTON - Ronald F. Johnson, 78, of Washington passed away at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Ron was born on June 3, 1936, in Chicago to Rudolph and Eleanor (Swartz) Johnson. He married Judith "Judy" Butler in Chicago on May 18, 1956. Judy survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Rhonda Johnson of Washington, Laura (Joe) Petrauskas of Tinley Park and Cynthia (Dale) Mueller of Beecher; one son, Tim (Vilailuk) Johnson of Washington; one sister, Sandra McAneney of Homewood; and seven grandchildren.
Ron retired as district superintendent for Commonwealth Edison, where he had worked for 38 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Ron had earned a bachelor's degree in business from Governors State University in Chicago.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with burial following in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to services. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
