Family-Placed Obituary

EDWARD B. ADAMS 68 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, after an extended illness. Born in Cordele, GA on May 17, 1940, Ed moved to West Palm Beach as a baby and has been a life-long resident. He graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1958 where he was a member of the band. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Naval Reserves. Eddie worked for Mizell-Faville-Zern Funeral Home before graduation and after getting out of the Navy. He attended mortuary college in New York City in 1963 and became a licensed funeral director. He served as manager for Mizell-Faville-Zern Southdale Chapel for many years as well as working for other funeral homes in the area until his retirement in 1998. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Byron and Blanche Adams who died in 2003. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 44 years, Darlene; a loving father to his two daughters, Dawn and Gary Richter of Nebo, NC and West Palm Beach, FL and Rochelle and Stuart Funke of West Palm Beach, FL and was very proud of his three wonderful grandsons, Cameron and Christian Richter and Bain Funke who knew him as 'Popie' He is also survived by his wife's mother, Barbara Dean and very special friends, Vernon and Linda and Julia and Charlie. He is also survived by his brothers, William Adams of West Palm Beach, FL, Dennis and Eula Adams of Quitman, GA and Philip and Pam Adams of Okeechobee, FL. Many Cousins including Sue Dochweiler and Frances Ransom in Cordele, GA, nieces and nephews and many relatives from a large extended family. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL HOME, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach with Rev. Hallock Martin, Rector of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, West Palm Beach, FL, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM until service time on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, Inc., 355 Lexington Ave, 15th Floor, NY, NY 10017 and the National Parkinson's Foundation, Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 31136-1494.
