DORAN, James "Jimmy"

James "Jimmy" Doran, 67, of Lantana, FL, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. Jim is survived by his three daughters, Lorraine (mother Irene), Jennifer and Jamie (mother JoAnn), sister Maureen Aschbrenner, niece Megan Biondi, nephew Dennis Biondi, loving partner and caregiver Joyce McCulloch, and many wonderful friends. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 16, 1946 to John and Genevieve (Keegan) Doran. He served in the Navy from 1964-78, including during the Vietnam War. Jim was passionate about his time in the Navy and his family's ancestry. He moved to Ireland after buying a farm, and enjoyed a simple life on the cliffs of the Celtic Sea. Jim's family would like to thank the Jay Robert Lauer Hospice in Lake Worth for their loving care, and Jim's friends from The American Legion for their friendship and support. A salute to Jim's service with full military honors will be held at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449 on July 18 at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to: Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
