Jack was born in Indiana and came to Florida in 1956. He retired in 1983 from Times Publishing Company after 26 years, seven with St. Petersburg Times and with St Petersburg Evening Independent, where he was city editor for 19 years. He later was a writer for the Weekly World news for 12 years and retired in 1995. He is a graduate of Franklin, IN High School and Indiana University. He served a year in Japan with the First Cavalry Division as part of the occupation force following World War II. He is survived by a son, Rick; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; daughter, Tracy preceded him in death in 2005. Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Palm Beach Baptist Church, 6201 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL.
