I was very sad to learn of John's death. John always showed me the greatest kindness when I worked for him in the 1900's with Sherry and Margaret, treating me as one of the family from day one.
My thoughts and sympathy go out to his family and many friends.
With great sadness, Ingrid McLean

John Adams reputation as a kind gentleman and knowledgeable attorney preceded my actual meeting with him in the 1990's. He was a young attorney with Mr. Newett when he first represented my grandmother in the 1950's when she purchased a lot on Seagate Drive and built her "retirement" home there. She adored John and he was her attorney for forty years. I will miss him! Patricia Porter Kryder, granddaughter of Alice Terrice Lee (Milner).

I met John at the University of Florida in Gainesville in the late 50's when I was an undergraduate. He was attending law school at the time and, as he was a fraternity brother from Vanderbilt, he would show up at the fraternity house from time to time. We met on many ocassions, enjoyed refreshments, and became good friends. Upon graduation in June 1958, I returned to my home state of Virginia when Charlie Gwynn fetched me and pointed me to Delray Beach where John and I met again. He was a great tennis partner as Dick Van den Bosch will attest. John also played on our slow pitch team and many of his former team mates are still around.
At the time I was at the University, I did not know that John and other Delray Beach fraternity brothers had grown up with my future wife, Nyoma Nitschke, whom I had yet to meet. Small world! John became the family attorney of Nyoma's parents, Eddie and Meta Nitschke. I would be remiss if I did not mention how appreciative the Nitschke's were for John's counsel and friendship. John was a welcome visitor at the nursery many times.
John was a kind soul and a true gentleman. In the intervening years since we left the area in 1965, Nyoma and I have returned to Delray Beach many times. We always made it a point to see John and enjoyed our visits. Nyoma and I were able to stop by his office in March to say hello and that was the last time we saw him. We will always remember him with great respect and fondness. His passing is a great loss to us. Our condolences to his family.

With sadness we extend to the family of John Ross Adams our deepest sympathy. Memories come flooding back to a first meeting of the "cousins" with Aunt Georgia Stubbs in Albany, Georgia. John, Neville, Art, Buzzy and me in the late 80's. Then we had a few more reunions and one time with just John and Neville. John had an easy way about him that just fit right in, including coloring with crayons or playing ball with my young son, Jefferson.
I knew when meeting him and being in his presence that he had become a good man that others depended upon. I think of our mutual ancestry and know that he is home with them and they are as proud of his accomplishments as we are.

There are few people whom you need only to meet once, to leave a lasting impression. John Adams was one of those people. A man who loved is family and would do anything for them. It was our pleasure to have met you. May your soul enjoy eternal peace in the house of Our Lord.

Sheri,
I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. As you well know, through the years John was so kind and always willing to help and offer advice on just a moments notice. I will miss John's gentle, caring and soft-spoken ways. I will be sure to think of John each time I look at my Tripp Harrison artwork as I always admired the prints in your office. May God bless John.

I was so sad to learn of John’s death. John hired me at MacMillan’s; he was a patient teacher and was always so kind and helpful. I think when I remember John I will always think of his as a gentlemen. You can always judge someone by their friends and John had the truest of friends. Many will miss him. Rest in peace.
