Joseph B. Love, Sr., of Ellenwood, GA, died peacefully at his home on June 21, 2013. He was born in Conyers, GA, on March 9, 1924, he was 89 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Swinney Love. He spent his youth in Atlanta and attended Tech High School class of '42. After high school he enlisted in the Army serving in the Army Air Corp stateside as a flight engineer on a B-17. He married Elizabeth Kathleen Swinney on June 17, 1944. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia-Atlanta. He then began his career in the insurance business at the Farm Bureau. He worked at several companies before forming a partnership in the Insurance House and Southern General Ins. Company. He retired in 2005. He loved playing tennis, golf and bowling. He coached Little League Baseball and Girls Softball. He had many friends in Georgia and South Florida. He was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers, GA. He is survived by his children, Joseph B. Love, Jr. and wife, Donna of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Donna L. Echols and husband, Mike of Ellenwood, GA; grandchildren, Tonya Love Cheatham and husband, Lach of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Joseph B. Love, III and wife, Heather of Palm Beach, FL, Michael S. Echols, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Sharpsburg, GA; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Love will be Monday, June 24, 2pm at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gentiva Hospice, Stockbridge, GA, St Jude's Children Hospital, or Landmark Christian School, Fairburn, GA.
