Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, with military rites performed by the Marion V.F.W. Hyde-Pillow Post #1301 and the Illinois Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Please express your condolences by contributing to the Larry Daly Memorial fund accepted at any Wells Fargo Bank. The family will donate those funds to a charity in Larry's name. Larry was born on September 16, 1949, in Dayton, OH, to Joseph Anthony and Lois Jean (Little) Daly. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth A. Daly; son, Joseph A. Daly; grandson, Shawn S. Lokahandwala; and brother, James Ransom Daly, Sr. of Houston, TX. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Anthony Daly, Jr.; and sister, Jacquelynne Daly. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. Larry was an ordained minister who loved the Lord and his fellow man. He was always looking for ways to bring joy, happiness and salvation to everyone he established a relationship with. He was happiest when fulfilling his Godly calling and serving his Heavenly Father. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, collecting baseball memorabilia, and Corvettes. Larry took great joy in helping people and participating in activities that would bring joy, comfort, redemption and salvation to those around him. In more recent years, he became very involved in his very special grandson's life. Larry's smiling face and kind words will be sorely missed in a world needing men like him.
