Richard Eugene "Richie" PASLEY II Obituary
PASLEY, II, Richard Eugene "Richie"

October 27, 1973 - March 13, 2014. Richie was born to Richard Pasley and Joann Schimpf and lived almost his entire life in Palm Beach County. He graduated from Atlantic High School and worked for Publix for many years. Richie loved all sports, but basketball was his game. A proud participant in Special Olympics for over 25 years, he won gold in Track & Field and Basketball at the local and state levels, won gold for Downhill Skiing at the National Games the first time he ever saw snow skis and won gold in Track & Field at the World Games. He even appeared on the Today show with Willard Scott representing Palm Beach County Special Olympics. His love for local rap music and professional wrestling put a smile on his face, and he was known to many that loved him as "Sly Dawg". Richie cared so fully for so many. Whether you were a friend on Facebook, distant cousin, high school alum, or Publix employee, you were loved with a special, loyal love that never expired. Richie is survived by his mother Joann Schimpf (Mark), his father Richard Pasley (Sandra), sisters Amy Winchester, Julie Keefe (Alex), Carina Mancebo (Pablo), Christy Schimpf, Dara Kashmanian (Eric) and brothers Anthony Catanese, Mark Schimpf and Kevin Schimpf. He is also survived by nieces and nephews that he adored and countless other family and friends. Friends and family will be received at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach on Monday, March 17 from 5:00pm until 8:00 with a service to be held at 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 18, at 11:00am with Pastor Phillip Harrelson, officiating. Casual attire requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Palm Beach County Special Olympics.
