Obituary Condolences

SLATER, Robert Frazier

On October 29, 2012, Robert Frazier Slater, of North Palm Beach, FL, passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 85. Bob was born in Detroit, MI. He attended the University of Michigan and received a Master's Degree in Architecture. He moved with his family to Florida in 1968. He continued to design buildings, many of which can still be found in the Palm Beach area. Throughout his life Bob was an avid golfer. He was a member of the North Palm Beach Country Club for over 40 years. His family recalls how throughout his seventies Bob would often return from the golf course and proudly announce, "I shot my age today". During the final years and days of his life, he designed and developed a golf club, The DNP Putter ("Darn Near Perfect"). He received a patent for the club's unique design. Bob was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is survived by his long time partner, Rosemarie Crothers, of North Palm Beach, FL; his brother, Dick Slater, of Marin County California, and his four children, Jeffrey Slater of Asheville, NC; Sharon Evinrude of Jensen Beach, FL; Christopher Slater of Clark, CO; Catherine Springston of Jensen Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Frances Slater. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 3360 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, 33410. There is no plan for special services to be held. Arrangements handled by Edgley Cremation Services, Stuart, FL.
