Clarence Philpot (88) was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 15, 1924, to Virgie Ray and Bradley Philpot. He passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Walter, Bradley and Alice; wives Josie Philpot and Shirley Philpot and step-daughter Merry Sullivan Kovar.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Ann Philpot, daughter Clarissa Parker & Charlie; son Clarence Philpot & Kelly; step-sons: Randy Sullivan & Teri and David Sullivan; brothers and sisters: Charles Philpot & Lishia; Doris Philpot; Betty Philpot; Jimmy Philpot; Jerry Philpot & Mary; Nick Schrakamp; Kathy Schrakamp; Mollie Barton; Carolyne McCants; Glenn Wills & Pam, Benjamin Wills & Tiffany; Ron Wills and Donna and grandchildren: Richard Parker & Monica; Thomas Parker & Alicia: Rebecca Bollom & Marcus; Shawn Philpot & Amber; William Philpot; Kelly Philpot-Jones; Chase Sullivan & Sol; Ashton Sullivan;Tessa Sullivan; Christopher Kovar; Jonathan Kovar and 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Clarence lived many years in Channelview, Pasadena, and recently in La Porte. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific islands from 1941 - 1945. He retired from Champion Paper Mill in Pasadena, Texas after 43 years.
He was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Texas. Clarence was an ordained deacon in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. A memorial service was held in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Texas on July 18, 2012. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
