Ernest Halon Enochs, 88, of Friendswood, TX passed quietly with his family at his side on Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Mable Aline Rogers Enochs and Roland Halon Enochs.
He graduated from high school in Texarkana after which he enlisted in the Army. He served with the 94th Division, 301st infantry in World War II in France and Germany where he spent months as a prisoner of war. Once liberated he returned to the states and moved to Houston to attend college at the University is Houston where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He subsequently met and married Margaret Ann Youngs who was to be his wife for the next 62 years. Ernest worked for nearly 20 years for the Falstaff Brewing Corp. as a District Manager. After years of community service with the Republican Party and with his local VFW chapter he finally retired in Friendswood, TX to live at The Bedford.
Ernest is survived by his daughter Karen Rosenblatt and husband Steven and his daughter Lisa Price and husband Ron; grandchildren, Micah Rosenblatt, Miriam Druyan and husband Rabbi Yoav Druyan, Matthew Price, Jennifer Bean and husband Brent and Shannon Price; as well as four great grandchildren; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598 with Jerry McCurdy officiating.
