Harold C. Kristof, 83, of Friendswood Texas, passed away on Friday evening November 29, 2013 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital, Webster, Texas.

He was born an only child to the late Charles Kristof Jr. and Alice Heinke Kristof on February 9, 1930 in Caldwell Texas. Harold moved to Houston with his parents at the age of eight. In 1946 the family moved back to Caldwell and Harold graduated from Caldwell High School in 1948. Immediately upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he spent over 20 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired with the rank, Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1968. He then became employed with Houston Lighting and Power and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor after 24 years of service.

In 1956 Harold married Harriet Gilmor of Pasadena, Texas at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Houston and had been married for over 57 years when he passed away. To that union were born four sons: Keenan R. Kristof, Kelly Eugene Kristof, Kevin C. Kristof and Kent H. Kristof.

Harold's personal life yielded a variety of interests including the Boy Scouts of America in which he was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for several years. In October 1985 Harold was honored by the Boy Scouts of America with an impressive retirement. As an avid outdoorsman, Harold particularly enjoyed annual hunting trips with friends and family. He was also a honey bee keeper for over 25 years and was a member of the Harris County Honey Bee Association.

Harold is survived by his wife Harriet, and their four sons: Keenan, and wife Olivia and daughters Angela and Cristine of Friendswood; Kelly of Houston; Kevin, and wife Linda and daughter Charlee of Spring; Kent, and wife Lara and son Jack of Mesa Arizona.
