Lopez Jr., Joe M.
Joe M. Lopez Jr., affectionately known to all as "Uncle Joe",was born August 11, 1926 to Amelia and Jose Maria Lopez Sr. in Nogales Arizona. A graduate of Nogales High School, he completed his courses and graduated early allowing him to enlist in the service. He served in the US Air Core/Army Air Force in WWII as a Radio Operator from Jan 1944 – Sept 1946 earning a Good Conduct Medal and Victory Ribbon. When he returned from the war he worked briefly for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Arizona then moved to Los Angeles with his mother and siblings. He worked as a mortgage broker in Los Angeles for 30+ years settling in Pasadena Ca. He had a love of golf, ballroom dancing and was a season ticket holder for his beloved LA Dodger's and UCLA Bruins. He is survived by his sister Consuelo "Connie" Thometz, brothers Rudolfo "Rudy" Lopez and Francisco Luis "Frank/Louie" Lopez. Never married, he was "The One and Only"Uncle Joe to 13 nieces and nephews; Jose Rudolfo, Salvador, Carlos, Ana Maria, Alberto, Roberto, Consuelo, Margarita, Jose Patrick, Frank, Eddie, Troy, Michele along with 15 great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. We love you Uncle Joe.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00pm Holy Family Church South Pasadena. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena
