Paul Alfred Waterhouse was born in San Pedro to parents
Eleanor Carpenter Waterhouse and Laurence H. Waterhouse and is survived by his wife Crescence, their son, David, David's wife, Leigh, daughters, Joyce and Sharon, Sharon's husband Jim Wright, 3 grandchildren, Jeff and Emily Waterhouse and Katie Wright, and 2 nephews, Bill and Ted Waterhouse. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Bernard and his sisters, Esther and Ruth.
Paul went to Pasadena schools, including Muir, and played on the UCLA tennis team. He taught tennis in Pasadena for many years, and one of his pupils was the famous Stan Smith. He served in the army in World War II, and later was a peace activist, writing several editorials for the Star News. He will be greatly missed.
A private memorial will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity (Habitat.org).
