Stuart Pounder MacLaren

1925 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
MacLAREN, Stuart Pounder

Stuart Pounder MacLaren, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Dana Point, California on August 4, 2013. Stuart was born in Gardner, Massachusetts on July 3, 1925.
He graduated from Phillips Academy Andover in 1943 and received his undergraduate degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1947 and M.B.A. degree from Harvard University in 1950. He was married to Patricia Boothe MacLaren for 64 years. Stuart and Pat lived in San Marino, California for 38 years before relocating to Dana Point in 1995. Stuart was a financial consultant and served for a number of years as Vice President of Capital Research and Management, now Capital Group. He was an avid downhill skier and hiker, and he loved to spend time with his family at their mountain cabin above Lake Mary near Mammoth Lakes, California. He is survived by his wife Pat, four children - Wendy, of Nevada, Missouri; Ronni, of Mill Valley, California; Matt, of Newport Beach, California; and Tricia, of San Marino, California - and five grandchildren. In memory of Stuart, who always had a dog (or two) by his side, friends may make a donation to their favorite animal rescue organization or the S.P.C.A. The family will hold a private memorial service.
