Barbara Jane "Bobby" Ewing passed away April 13, 2014, in Waltham, Massachusetts, after a long illness.
Bobby was born on September 14, 1930, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Meryl and Laura Reed. She graduated from Northern Illinois University and became an elementary school teacher.
During the summer, she worked in Yellowstone National Park, as had her mother and later her daughter Laura. There, she met Scott Ewing, to whom she was married for 58 years until his death last year.
Bobby was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and was beloved by all who knew her.
While raising her children, she always made time for community causes, including her church, Meals on Wheels, the arts and organizations that aided children.
After retirement, she and Scott moved from Houston, Texas, to Port Angeles, where they built a house overlooking the Olympic Mountains. There, she continued her community involvement and enjoyed the outdoors and time spent with family and friends.
Bobby is survived by her three children, John, Laura and Lucinda; and her four grandchildren.
Her friends are invited to join her family for a memorial service at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E Lauridsen Boulevard, Port Angeles, WA 98362, on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 5 p.m.
Donations of remembrance may be sent to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center in lieu of flowers.
