Eugene passed away of metastatic cancer at his home with his adoring sister Shirley Roberts at his side.
Eugene was born to Melvin Eugene Pilkington and Olga Marie Pilkington on March 25, 1937, in Seattle, Washington. He joined his four sisters in the family, and a brother followed him.
In 1967, he joined the Army and remained in the service for 17 years, with three terms spent in Vietnam. He was a loader operator and bridge builder, which explained his love of heavy-duty equipment.
He loved repairing lawn mowers and sitting in his "man cave" sorting his tools and watching TV. For entertainment, he liked going with his sister to the casino.
He was an avid reader of Westerns and had nearly every Louis L'Amour publication.
While in the service, he received many medals, including two Purple Hearts, of which he was very proud.
He was married twice and divorced twice. Eugene had two daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one sister.
Eugene was a kind and gentle man who would do anything to help a fellow friend, and to not have known him is a loss.
God's blessing on your journey. You are forever gone but never forgotten.
At his request, no services are planned.
