Louis Jasper Rosanbalm of Sequim passed away on April 14, 2014, from natural causes at the age of 87.
He was born in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, to Orpha Alzaday (Collinsworth) and Jasper Rosanbalm.
He served with the U.S. Navy from 1945 through 1947 and was stationed in Saipan during World War II.
Upon returning home, he took up work with the Clallam County Public Utility District, working as a ground man, truck driver and meter reader. He retired after 30 years of service with the PUD.
He married Mavis Knight on August 28, 1957, in Port Angeles.
Louis was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4760 in Sequim and served as post commander and district commander. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, traveling and riding motorcycles. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife, Mavis Rosanbalm; sons Jim, Mike and Drew Rosanbalm; daughter Eva Tiller; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
An 11 a.m. memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 26, at Sequim VFW Post 4760, 169 East Washington Street, with a reception to follow. He will be buried at Sequim Valley Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way.
