Mark Coleman, 61, of Havillah, Washington, died May 19, 2014, in Wenatchee, Washington.
Mark was born on March 5, 1953, to Robert and Patricia Coleman in Sheldon, Iowa.
He lived and loved in Havillah for 18 years and lived in Forks for 18 years before that.
He married Carol Westhaver on November 11, 1977, at Marymere Falls in Olympic National Park.
Mark was a check cruiser for the Department of Natural Resources for 32 years until his retirement in 2008. He also worked as a wildland firefighter, was employed in 2010 by the Census Bureau and worked on the Milwaukee Railroad and as a gravedigger.
Mark loved to be a grandfather, writing poetry and hunting.
He was a muleskinner, and Jack will miss him. He was also a mountain man; he loved to climb them, packing into them and camping.
Mark graduated from Peninsula College in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; son Sean Coleman of Port Angeles; daughters Katie McCelland of Bremerton, Washington, and Colleen Coleman of Seattle, Washington; mother Pat Coleman of Davenport, Iowa; brothers Mick Coleman, Marty Coleman and Matt Coleman; sisters Maureen Bennett and Molly Dankbar; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, at Eden Valley Guest Ranch, 31 Eden Valley Lane, Oroville, Washington.
