I love my Uncle Gil very much! He would make us kids peanut butter and butter sandwiches which I have enjoyed eat since. He is truly missed.

Gil was among the first people we met in Port Townsend at the beginning of 1998. Lucky us! Gil knew what and how it meant to be a friend. My husband, Terry, was just getting his bearings after a life-threatening stroke; and it was Gil who helped him move forward with his life in this new town. He introduced Terry to the Quimper Life Drawing Sessions, took him swimming and "out and about" in too many other ways to detail here. I will give thanks always and in all ways for Gil and his friendship!

I am blessed for having met this man who also went down to the sea in ships. He watched a lot of history as it was being made and told great stories of his time. What a great neighbor...

Gil had many wonderful talents and left a legacy of creative works. He was a great father-in-law and I especially love the legacy he left me; his caring and loving son, Bruce. Gil has touched many lives and I know he would tell everyone, don't be sad about his passing but use it as a reminder to take the time to be with friends and go see a good movie!
