Charles A. Black

1932 - 2014



Charles Albert Black (Chuck) age 81 of Pensacola, Florida passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer. Chuck was born on May 28, 1932 in Newark, Ohio. He was predeceased in death by his parents Albert M. and Beulah M. Black.

He left behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 59 years; Marion E. Black (Betty Savin). His children, Charles E. Black, Cheryl E. Messier and Craig E. Black. Chuck had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

After serving in the U.S. Navy for 20 ½ years, he retired as a Senior Chief Air Traffic Controller.

He did not stop there, he then went on to second career as an Air Traffic Controller with the F.A.A. finally retiring for good after 16 years in 1987.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 12 Noon until 1pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Rd. with services beginning at 1pm. The Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National or Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements entrusted to Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
