LT Arthur V. Nutt

LT Arthur V. Nutt, 69, of Pensacola, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Born in Berclair, Texas on October 21, 1943 to the late Marvin and Geneva Nutt, he resided locally for many years. As a young man, Arthur was a barber and a fireman until he joined the Pensacola Police Department on May 11, 1970 and retired as a Lieutenant on October 21, 1998. Arthur was instrumental in establishing Departmental procedures governing hurricane preparation and was subsequently awarded the Law Enforcement Distinguished Service Award. In addition, he was also nominated for the Pensacola Police Department's Bronze Cross. He served and was very active on the Florida State Police Pension Board and the Fraternal Order of Police. Arthur also devoted much time to the Boy Scouts of America. Arthur's hobbies included camping, coin collecting and antiquing; however he will be remembered for living his life with honesty and integrity and one who wore his badge with honor.
Preceded in death are his parents and a brother, Robert Nutt.
Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 42 years, Deborah Nutt; children, Kevin Nutt, Steven Nutt and Megan Clapp (Tyler); grandchildren, Connor, Emily, Kody, Riley and Boston; sister, Mary Gatling; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with one hour visitation prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gonzalez United Methodist Church or the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 415 in memory of Lt Arthur V. Nutt.
