David Duane Klaus
September 20, 1954 - April 15, 2014
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and faithful friend to many. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Milford and Edith, and sister, Doreen. Born in Chelsea, MA, and graduated from Westside High School in Omaha, NE. A Navy veteran, he retired to Pensacola, FL, with his loving wife, after a successful career as Chief of Supply for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Debbie; daughters Kim Hughes (Trey), Alexandria, LA, and Kelly Klaus, Pensacola, FL; brother William, Omaha, NE; granddaughter Ava, Alexandria, LA; numerous cousins, nephews, and a niece; close friends; and his best friend, a wonderful German Shepard, Toby Tyler. He had many hobbies, which included golf, fishing, bowling, and softball. A genuine and admirable man, he had a way of brightening your day with his jokes and glowing smile. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives were touched by his generosity and warmth.
Visitation will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North Thursday, April 17, 2014, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m..
Funeral Services will take place Friday, April 18, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Almaranthe Cemetery.
