George W. Conquest

George William Conquest "Billy" went to sleep on March 2, 2014 to awake on Gods Celestial Shore (with a fishing rod in his hand and a bucket full of bait). As a professed believer and lover of Christ, his soul now rests with Jesus. George was Baptist by faith. He was born in Pensacola, FL on April 13, 1939 and died in Hernando, FL on March 2, 2014.

George is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathie Conquest, and has two daughters, Lisa Pelliter and Kimberly Jackson of North Carolina, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, niece and cousins in Pensacola, FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Edgar and Alice Aletha "Lete" (Sinnott) Conquest; step father, William Robert Nelson and sister, Carolyn Arlene Drew.

George grew up in Pensacola and attended Catholic High and Pensacola High and graduated from Pensacola State College. He attended University of Iowa. He was a pioneer in automated data processing working in the automotive and publishing industry in Walled Lake, MI, Great Falls, MT and finally in Iowa. He was called on by IBM and others to teach their clients advanced database structures. He spent most of his life career as an educator, mentor and Director of Computer Technologies at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. He and Kathie were married there on Christmas Eve 1994.

George was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman and lived to spend time on the water. He achieved Master Marine Captain's license status and so is aptly remembered as Captain George. His greatest joy was in Cobia fishing where as a young man he held state records.

George and Kathie retired to enjoy the outdoors near family and friends on beautiful Lake Tsala-Apopka in Hernando, FL. He enjoyed his boat and fishing trips to the lakes, Crystal River, offshore and particularly Cedar Key. He and Kathie lovingly cared for his parents who retired there in Hernando until their passing

His wishes were for no services, but for friends and family to remember him in the outdoors. A family get together will be scheduled at a later time, God Bless Kathie forever, for the loving way she kept him going this last year. Bill we will see you on some morning in the future.

The family and friends would like to particularly thank Hospice of Citrus County and other medical professionals in Citrus County, FL. Donations may be made in memoriam to , 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alex., VA 22311 or to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
