Herbert Jackson "Jack" Duck, 83, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Born in Grand Bay, Alabama on May 22, 1930, he resided locally for 60 years. A US Navy veteran, Jack served on the USS Boxer during the Korean War. After 33 years of dedicated service, he retired from Monsanto. Jack will be remembered as a great and loving father.
Preceded in death are his wife, Lois Gayle Duck; parents, Alice and Herbert Duck; sister-in-law, Audrey Odom; brothers-in-law, Curtis Willard and Bobby Roberts.
Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Glenda Williams; son, Keith Duck, both of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Daisy Shields (Mitchell), Murphy, NC, Elizabeth Bishop (Jimmy), Mobile, AL, Louise Roberts (Bobby) and Exer Gardner (Midget), Irvington, AL; brother, Earl Duck (Annette), Bon Aire, GA; extended family, Judy, John, Jeri Lynn, Jamie and Joey Shaffer; numerous nieces, nephews and a four-legged friend, Casey.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home until services begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mitchell Shields officiating.
Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Our gratitude and a special thank you to Gilbert Aikens, Jack's close friend and roommate at the Specialty Center for the companionship he brought Jack. Special thanks are also extended to the staff of Specialty Center of Pensacola and the staff of 2 West Baptist Hospital for the tender care provided to Jack.
