Norvin "Wayne"

Bodiford

1934-2014

Norvin "Wayne" Bodiford, 79, was born on December 4, 1934 and went Home to see the Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 8:10pm, after fighting a courageous, eight year battle with lung cancer. He died at his home in Pensacola, Florida with his lifelong companion, Ree Grunenwald, his daughter, Jennifer Bodiford Sewell and his son, Steve Bodiford by his side. Wayne was a graduate of Pensacola High School in 1952. Wayne worked as a Fireman for the City of Pensacola for 24 years and retired as a Captain. He maintained strong and lifelong friendships with many of his firemen buddies till the day he passed. Anyone who knew Wayne knew that he was an avid golfer and student of the game and a committed and intense Alabama football fan. He enjoyed his frequent fishing trips to Deland, Florida with his buddies and his morning read of the Pensacola News Journal with his coffee.

Wayne was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Thomas L. Bodiford; mother, Ebra Bodiford; brother, Thomas Bodiford; son, Michael Wayne Bodiford; and lifelong friends, Johnny Langford and Cliff Murdock.

Survivors include: his brother, Charles Bodiford; his son, Steve Bodiford (Heather); his daughter, Jennifer Sewell (Douglas); his grandchildren, Joannah Sewell, Jentry Sewell, Alex Czajkowski, Ana Czaikowski, and Sam Bodiford; his great-granddaughter, Camden Bell; his adopted children, Debbie Steffers (Danny), Susan Grunenwald (Mitch), and Joan Hillers (Myron); his adopted grandchild, Susan Matuszak (Jeff), & his adopted great-grandchild, Collin Matuszak.
