Dr. Phillip Bromley

Dr. Phillip Eugene Bromley, age 74, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, April 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Dr. Bromley was born on Sunday, March 19, 1939, in Jackson, MI, to the late Francis and Esma Taylor Bromley. He grew up in Jackson, Michigan, where he attended Jackson High School. He played basketball at Eastern Michigan University where he received his undergraduate and Masters Degree. He then earned his PHD at Michigan State University. He was a Professor at the University of West Florida where he authored and directed Programs for the University as well as the United States Navy and the Canadian Armed Forces. He continued on with Organizational/Clinical Psychology at the corporate and the individual level. After his professional career, he moved to Brooksville, Mississippi, where he enjoyed a slower pace involving reading, gardening, and preparing fields at the camp house for his family's enjoyment. His proudest personal achievements revolved around his family. He successfully raised six children and was happily married to Pam for 51 years. Honesty, integrity, and loyalty were some of his finest characteristics and constantly guided the way he lived his life. At an early age, he realized the importance of seeking the truth in his daily journey with God. He passed this important legacy on to his family. He enjoyed countless hours of supporting his children's activities including softball, cheerleading, baseball and football.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Fleck Bromley, Brooksville, MS; sons, Phillip Eugene Bromley, II (Jill), Saline, MI; Scott Bromley (Caroline), Columbus, MS; and Christopher Bromley (Stephanie), Mandeville, LA; daughters, Nicole Bromley, Brooksville, MS; Heather Bromley, Boca Raton, FL; and Candice Sharpe (Gerald), Orlando, FL; brother, Delmar W. Bromley (Carey), Pleasanton, CA; grandchildren, Phillip Eugene Bromley, III, Christina Bromley, Alexander Bromley, Jacob Bromley, Mathew Bromley, Jonathan Bromley, Taylor Fields, John Henry Fields, Mary Virginia Fields, Samuel Joseph Sharpe, and Grace Anne Sharpe.
