Richard Charles Lightkep


Richard Charles Lightkep, son of George and Lucretia Lightkep, was Born in beautiful Pittsburg, Kansas, November 8, 1950 and raised in the sunny state of Florida. This is where he later met his match in Elaine (White) Lightkep. Richard and Elaine were married for 43 years with the last 9 years of their marriage involving Richard's battle with cancer and Elaine's fight to assist and care for him. During his life, he served in the Army National Guard, worked as a funeral director, transmission store manager, and Dodge salesman. On Friday, July 11, after a long and often difficult battle, Richard passed quietly from this life into eternity.

He is survived by his ever loving mother Lucretia, beautiful wife Elaine, older brother George and wife Irene, younger brother Tom, oldest son Ricky and wife Linde, only daughter Tracy and husband Carlton, and youngest son, Eric and wife Holly. Richard is also survived by his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Kayden, Colton, Kyler, Jackson, Sullivan, Maddox, and Grantham. Richard will be welcomed at the gates of heaven by Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior and two of his grandchildren, CJ and Kya. We love you dad and will wait patiently to see you again.

The viewing and visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Innerarity Point Baptist. The funeral service will be on July 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
