Roger J. Palmer

1922 - 2014

Roger J. Palmer, age 91, died January 28 after an extended illness.

He was a native of Kettering, Ohio and previously lived in Ogden, Utah; Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Sandestin, Florida before moving to Gulf Breeze, Florida in 2000.

During World War II, he served with the Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church and a retired volunteer from the Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary and the Good Samaritan Clinic.

He is survived by his wife Freida; sons Keith (Jane) of San Diego, California; and Scott (Sue) of Savage, Minnesota. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Benjamin, Alison, Jenna and Claire Palmer and three nephews, Craig (Vicky), Mark (Jodi), and Brian (Shellee) Stickel.

A Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 1 St. Francis Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida on Friday, February 7 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Massey Gentry and The Rev. Christiana Olsen will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palmer Memorial Fund, St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church.
