Timothy J. Wright

1984 - 2014

Timothy J. Wright, 30, of Pensacola, died July 17, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in a military readiness exercise at Pope Army Airfield, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was born March 15, 1984 in Santa Maria, California, the son of David and Sylvia (Vick) Wright. He attended Pensacola Christian Academy and graduated in 2002 where he was a member of the high school choir and band.

Timothy joined the Air Force in 2009, became a medic, and was first stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield, California. Timothy was promoted to Senior Airman, completed two deployments to Afghanistan, and then completed training to become an aeromedical evacuation technician. He was transferred to Pope Airfield where he joined the 43rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron in May of 2014.

Timothy is survived by his parents David and Sylvia of Pensacola, his brother Aaron of Prattville, Alabama, and his brother Matthew of Pensacola. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 24, 2014, from 5 to 7 pm at Burgess Road Baptist Church. The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 8:30 am at Burgess Road Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Timothy Wright Memorial Fund which will be used to help needy children afford Christian education.
