JOSEPH JAMES JR., of Philadelphia PA (Port St. Lucie FL) April 20, 2013. Survived by fianceé Christine Kobus; daughter, Gabrielle Robertson-Cawley (Kieran Cawley); son, Drew Robertson (Kristine Melton) children of Mary Lou Brancato Robertson; grand-children, Samuel and Madelyn Robertson; sister, Janet Fox (Tom Fox); sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Ben Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Ben, Michael, Becky, Tom, and Christine, honorary stepfather and Pop-Pop to Harry, Joey and Hunter Kobus.
Joe was a graduate of LaSalle University and studied at the University of Pennsylvania shortly before enlisting in the Marine Corps where he served with honor and bravery as a Captain and air traffic controller in Vietnam. After leaving the service, he worked in paper sales and later as a printing broker.
Italian food connoisseur, avid stargazer, fisherman, lover of science, nature, and self-confessed computer geek, Joe had unlimited intellectual curiosities. His newfound hobby of scuba diving took him to many places where he combined his interest in photography with his love for the sea. One of his greatest joys in life was fishing with his family off of the jetty in Manasquan NJ.
Family and friends will be informed of a celebration of life to be held at a later date in Philadelphia.
