MARIANNE ELIZABETH (nee Harkins), known with affection to her family and friends as "Pinky" entered eternal life in Norwood, PA on Wednesday January 29, 2014. Pinky was born on August 30, 1954 to George and Marie (nee Cavanaugh) Harkins in Phila., PA as the youngest of their 11 children. She is survived by her most beloved husband Karl and her loving children Matthew, Sean, and Jenna. She was pre-deceased by her parents as well as her brother Robert (Sally) Harkins and sister Lorraine (Robert) Coyne. Pinky was the baby sister to Mary Lou (Joseph) Henigan, Patricia (the late Jack) Galvin, Rose Marie (the late Joseph) Walsh, George (Geri), Joseph (Peggy), Emmett (Nancy), David (Lynn) and Paul (Gloria) Harkins. She is also survived by 39 nieces and nephews as well as many forever friends.
Pinky requests all attending the services to wear some pink in her memory and for support for this rare and complicated form of Breast Cancer. Visitation Saturday from 5 - 9 P.M. at THE CAVANAGH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday 10 A.M. in the Church of St. Rose of Lima, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone where friends may call after 9 A.M. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations can be contributed in her name to fight Triple Negative Breast Cancer to the Marianne E. Mebert Memorial Fund, c/o PNC Bank - Bank by Mail Department, P.O. Box 8108 Philadelphia, PA 19101.
