1930 - 2014 Notice Condolences

VIRGINIA A. "GINNY", 83 of Secane, PA died at home on April 25, 2014.
Miss Ford was born in Allen-town, PA June 2, 1930 to the late Arthur A. and Hazel (LeClair) Ford and moved to Minnesota where her father was a professor at the University of Minnesota then returned to PA at age 10 and attended Lansdowne Elementary School. Miss Ford was a 1948 graduate of Abington High School, received a diploma from Ambler Horticultural School in 1950, a certificate in Program-ming IBM machines in 1958 and earned a BA in Business Administration from Drexel University in 1973 where she majored in Accounting.
Miss Ford worked independent-ly at gardening and greenhouse care before her 2 year employ-ment as a machine operator with Standard Press Steel; a job she was very proud to perform. She was later employed as an IBM machine operator and then supervisor in the processing of Proof Coin orders at U.S. Mint in Philadelphia. Miss Ford also worked at Federal National Mortgage Assn. (Fannie Mae) as an IBM supervisor, account-ing technician and purchasing unit supervisor of 55 people for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1992.
She took the responsibility upon herself for organizing and updating her neighbors' person-al information to share and network in case of emergencies. Miss Ford enjoyed all sports especially ice hockey; holding season tickets with her partner. She travelled by RV through all but 3 U.S. states (Alaska, Hawaii and North Dakota). Her love of gardening was evident by the ever present "color" surrounding her home. Miss Ford was very patriotic and hung her American flag outside every day. She volunteered at the YMCA with the adult read-ing program and held various officer positions with Delaware County Aids Network.
When tragic events occurred in the world or on a personal level her favorite saying was "Human beings are the cruelest animals in the world".
Predeceased by her Loving Partner Muriel Martin whom she held with the utmost respect and always mentioned their travels and good times sharing life together. Also predeceased by her cousin Rodney Lewis and cousin-in-law Tom Bondar both of MA.
Survived by her cousin Diana Bondar and cousin-in-law Nancy Lewis and their families of MA, many caring friends and neighbors and her Jack Russell Terrier "Buddy".
Please join in a Celebration of Life Saturday 10 A.M. followed by a 10:30 A.M. Prayer Service at WILLIAMS LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore and Summit Aves., Clifton Heights PA 19018. Interment Edgewood Memorial Park. Contributions: Miss Ford donated to many different organizations and requested that in lieu of flowers please remember the veterans of all wars.
