Pearisburg - Alfred Benton Bodamer, 76, of Black Walnut Lane, Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at his home after a long illness. Born on September 8, 1936 in Lancaster, Ohio, he was a son of the late Benton Theodore and Virginia Conrad Bodamer. He was proud to have served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and later with the Civil Service as an engineering tech.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Betty Smith Bodamer; his children Michael Bodamer and wife Kimberly, Robert Bodamer and his wife Marie, Virginia Greek and her husband Tom, Therese Ansell and husband Terri, James Bodamer and his significant other Eddie Bryant, Debora Rogers and husband Marty, and the late David Bodamer; his 25 grandchildren; his 30 great-grandchildren; and his special friends Wanda Williams, Shirley Gould, and Linda Simpkins.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Micah Steele and Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with military rites by American Legion Post 311 Pembroke, Post 68 Narrows, Post 145 Peterstown and VFW Post 6000 Narrows.
