Arthur Cardillo
Chesapeake - Arthur Cardillo,92, went home to be with the Lord August 26, 2013. He was the son of the late Frank and Pauline Vacca Cardillo and the loving husband of 63 years to the late Mattie Webb Cardillo. Arthur was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and The Friendship Men's Bible Class; he also served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII in the South Pacific; and retired as an Aircraft Electrician at the Norfolk Naval Air Re-Work Facility.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Mary Lena Fanelli(Al); sons, David Arthur Cardillo(Valerie); and Jeff D. Cardillo(Sharon); grandchildren, Rebekah C. Allen(Jonathan), David M. Cardillo, Peter J. Cardillo, Nick Fanelli; and great grandchildren, Keegan and Basil Allen. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the special care provided to Arthur in the last two years, and especially in recent days by the staff of Chesapeake Place Assisted Living and Chesapeake General Hospital.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, August 31, at 11 a.m. at Kempsville Baptist Church with Dr. Kelly Burris officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made to Kempsville Baptist Church, "Mission Himpossible", 5204 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 and/or Gideon's International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN, 37214.
