Hatteras - Barbara McDowell Foster, 69, of Hatteras village, went to be in the arms of the Lord at home on December 31st, 2012, just before the new year. She was surrounded by her beloved grandchildren, her family, and friends.
Barbara was born May 12, 1943, in Michigan and grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida. She received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture from the University of Florida in 1964. Barbara was a founding partner of Foster and Parsons CPAs.
In 1995, Barbara was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She battled the cancer courageously and with few complaints throughout many cycles of chemotherapy and radiation for nearly eight years.
