Clyde H. Brown Sr.

Norfolk - Clyde H. Brown Sr. of Norfolk, Va. departed this life on March 23, 2014. Clyde was a resident of Commonwealth Memory Care of Norfolk where his *Casanova* character was cherished by many. He was born in 1926 in Norfolk, Va. to Nehemiah and Nannie Brown (both deceased).

Clyde served in the United States Marine Corps. Later, he was employed by the United States Postal Service where he retired after 30 plus years of service. Clyde maintained his residence in the Poplar Halls area of Norfolk and was an active member of New Calvary Baptist Church until his health declined. Clyde devoted time to the Civic League of Poplar Halls, as well as, the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Survivors include three children, Claudia Munn (Richard) of Newport News, Va., Clyde Brown Jr. (Ona) and Collista Wiggins (Sidney) of Washington, D.C., two brothers Nehemiah Brown (Mildred, deceased) of Norfolk, Va. and Thurston Brown of Takoma Park, Md., one sister Vernell Eure (Samuel, deceased) of Yorktown, Va. and two devoted cousins, Jackie Pickard (Nathaniel) and Sandra Lamb of Norfolk, Va. Clyde was also blessed to have five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Inez M. Brown and his sister, Audrey Clark (Johnnie, deceased).

The Visitation will take place 12 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 28, at Graves Funeral Home, 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, VA 23504. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. on the day of service. The Service begins 12 noon at the United House of Prayer For All People, 1206 Church Street. Repast to follow the interment at the United House of Prayer.
