Dwayne Parker

Norfolk - Dwayne Parker entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2014 at the age of 49.

He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 21, 1964. Dwayne graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1982. He attended Norfolk State University. He was an avid lover and player of basketball. He loved music and was always willing to share his finds and creations. Dwayne was a veteran of the U.S Air Force and retired from the Virginian-Pilot after being employed for over 20 years. He was recently employed by the United States Postal Service. He is preceded in death by his parents Addison L. and Thelma R. Parker, maternal and paternal grandparents, and a brother, Alexander E. Parker.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Takenya Prunty; a son, Kendall Prunty; five brothers, Kenneth Parker (Kay Hawkins), Jeffrey Parker, Robert "Bobby" Robinson of Norfolk, Addison Parker Jr. (Barbara) of Virginia Beach, and Joseph Parker of Georgia; three sisters, Robin Jackson (Timothy) of Virginia Beach,Yolanda Robinson (David Murphy) of Durham, NC, and Denise King (Thomas) of Lawton, OK; his sister-in-law, Veronica Parker of Washington, DC.; aunts Mrs. Audrey C. Manley, Mrs. Jean Thompson and Mrs. Ruby Parker.

He was a father figure and mentor to many of his nieces and nephews. His nieces and nephews include Addison Parker III, Jeralette Beavers, Ellaine LeSheryl Parker, Douglas Parker, Kendra Parker, Brian Parker, Kenneth Hawkins, Lance Hawkins, Albert Lambert Jr., Vernon Parker, Jovonia Newby Pitts, Adrienne Coles, Melantha Murphy, Aiyana Murphy, Demetrius Toberville, Demond Gallop, Parker Jackson, Victoria Jackson, Hope Jackson, Bridget King, Thomas King Jr., and Tiffany King.

Also cherishing his memory is special friend, Michele Harris and extended family members Isaiah Harris,Krystal Harris and Kevin Harris.

The funeral will be held today, February 6, at 11 a.m. at St Marks RZUA r 1513 Colonial Avenue (Spotswood).
