Edward E. Powers|
Portsmouth - Edward Eugene Powers, 86, of Chatham Rd. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2012. He retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad; and was a WWII veteran; a 50 year member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge; and a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Faye Hudson Powers; two daughters, Suzanne P. Malizia and her husband John and Kim Powers; two brothers, Robert Powers and Norman Powers and his wife Janet; six step children; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk by Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
