Virginia Beach - Gaston "Sandy" Dough Jr., passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at his residence in Virginia Beach."Sandy" was self-employed. He was born October 10, 1925 in the Overbrook section in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a 1943 graduate of Norview High School. As a WW2 Veteran, Sandy was enlisted Quarter Master in the United States Coast Guard, returning to Virginia Beach where he made his home for the next 60 years.Sandy enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. He loved his long walks on the boardwalk, which he did almost daily. He was an active and founding member of the Church of Christ serving as a deacon. He was also a founding member of the VFW, Virginia Beach Chapter. A "True Virginia Gentleman", he never met a stranger. His kindness, dedication and love were unwavering towards his family and friends.Sandy leaves behind his loving and caring wife of 59 years Wilma Madon Dough. He is also survived by his two children; daughter Tammy Ritch (Mike) of Fuquay Varina, NC, son Gaston F. Dough, III "Ranger" (Vikki) of Virginia Beach, his two grandchildren and two great grandchildren who were the joys of his life.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Avenue, Virginia Beach from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services will be held at Altmeyer on Wednesday, April 2, at 10:00 am. Grandsons Christopher Ritch and Jason Gambol will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gaston's name to The , Southeast Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.The family would like to extend their thanks to Grace Hospice for their support during this time.Online condolences can be made to www.altmeyer.com
