Gilbert E. Cullins

Chesapeake - Gilbert E. "Buck" Cullins, 89, formerly of Chesslawn Circle went home to be with the Lord February 18, 2014. Buck was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Horace and Julia Cullins and he was the loving husband to the late Mary Dailey Cullins. He was also predeceased by a brother, Horace G. Cullins. Buck served his country in the United States Army during World War II having served in the 82nd Airborne and retired with the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was formerly a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Julia Cullins Umphlet (Bob), Donna Cullins McClurg (Michael), Richard E. Cullins (Barbara) and Horace "Lee" Cullins, Sr.; grandchildren, Marie Christian, Robert Umphlet, Jr., Horace L. Cullins, Jr., Stephen Cullins, Jason Cullins, Dewey Blanchard, Charles McClurg, III, and Matthew McClurg; six great grandchildren; in-laws, James and Iris Gurganus, Annette and Jim Creekmore and Beulah Cullins.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Burris officiating followed by military honors. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved Mary at Riverside Memorial Park.
