James M. Remley

Chesapeake - James "Jim" Micheal Remley, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a retired Chesapeake Police Officer. He was a Past Master of Portsmouth Masonic Lodge #100 and a member of Berkley Masonic Lodge #167. He was also a member of Khedive Temple, Khedive Provost Guard, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Shrine Clubs, and Norview United Methodist Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Remley and daughter, Cheryl Anne Cooper.

Left to cherish Jim's memory: six daughters, Jennifer Remley McMinn, Connie Summers Viers and husband Wayne, Carol Summers Dillon and fiancée Thomas, Cynthia Summers Nichols and husband Mark, Caron Sue Summers, and Cathy Summers Lowery and husband Tyrone; nine grandchildren, Kenny Myers III, Brian Nichols and wife Heather, Craig Nichols and wife Jen, Christopher Cooper and wife Laura, Amber Viers, Kimberly Dillon, Michael Dillon, Beth Nichols and fiancée Kyle, and Danielle McMinn; three great-grandchildren, Audrey Viers, Brooke Nichols and Mason Nichols and a special companion, Jenny Gallimore.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Tom Mercer and Rev. Wm. Joe Shephard. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
