Katharine Mabry Boulden
Portsmouth, VA - Katharine Mabry Boulden, 70, of Portsmouth VA. Born August 2, 1942, died peacefully January 16, 2013 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Texas, due to complications from surgery and kidney failure. Kate was the widow of William James Boulden Jr. She graduated St. Paul High School, class of 1960, and received her Bachelor's degree from O.D.U., class of 1990. She was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Mabry and Marion Patricia Kelly. She is survived by her sisters Susan Morlino, Elma Mabry, and Marion Coppinger and by her 3 children, Joseph William Boulden, Marion Elizabeth Reid, and John Philip Boulden. She has 3 grandchildren Amelia Boulden, Jeffrey Joseph Boulden, and Katy Jolie Boulden. Among her many jobs Kate worked as an elementary school teacher, a fund raiser for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, worked for the U.S. Census, as a book editor, and a fact checker for the Virginian Pilot. She retired from HSBC where she worked in internet tech support. She spoke French and English, and spent time in the Congo in the 1960's.
