Virginia Beach - Linda DeHart Giese, 66, of the 400 block of Croatan Hills Drive, died December 3, 2013 in a local hospital. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Thomas Z. DeHart and Mary Agnes Bowden DeHart and was preceded in death by her brother T.Z. DeHart.
Linda attended Norfolk Catholic High School and graduated from Maury High School, class of 1966 and the Norfolk Business College. She raised her children in the Belle Mead area of New Jersey and moved back to Virginia Beach in 1997. While in New Jersey, she worked for Chubb Insurance Company. She was currently employed by Deborah James Associates and with her son's company Geese Logistics as an administrator. She was a Roman Catholic.
Linda ran the 2010 Rock and Roll Marathon but will be remember most for her love of her husband, children, sisters and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband Henry E. Giese, Jr. of Virginia Beach, her daughter Courtney A. Walston and her husband David of Virginia Beach, her son, Henry E. Giese, III and his wife Monica of Chesapeake and her sisters; Jo Nancy D. Reckling and Agnes D. Whitfield and her husband Bob all of Virginia Beach and Debra D. Clay and her husband Sam of Centreville, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Riley E. Giese, Ava A. Giese and Emily K. Giese and her soon to be born twin grandchildren, Hunter and Hayley Walston and numerous loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, Saturday, December 7, at 12 (noon) by the Reverend Father Brian Rafferty. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends in the Laskin Road chapel of H.D.
