Chesapeake - Margaret Lucille Hartsoe Perkins, 91, a loving mother and grandmother entered eternal rest on February 6, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Rosie Huffman Hartsoe, her husband Clarence W. Perkins Sr., son C. William Perkins, Jr., brothers Hubert, Tom and Vernon Hartsoe, sisters Myrtle Duncan and Edna Isaac.
She is survived by her loving daughter Inez Brittingham, grandsons Andy and Jeffrey Brittingham, brother Ken Hartsoe, sister Jean Bush and a host of nieces and nephews. Her special companion of the past 8 years Edward "Pete" Brewer of Portsmouth who provided Margaret with great love and comfort during her illness.
Margaret was a welder during WWII, a Real Estate Broker and owner of an apartment rental business. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, Portsmouth, VA; Chesapeake area Garden Clubs and Women of the Moose 898. She also was a member of several area square dance clubs and a Master Gardener in Chesapeake, VA.
Margaret was a strong and beautiful woman. She was an inspiration to her daughter who will forever miss her gracious and loving spirit. "I will love you always mom."
The family wishes to thank Shirley Wood for the tender care she provided over the past 6 ½ years. They would also like to thank Comfort Care Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional compassion and professionalism they displayed.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Lutheran Church, Portsmouth with Rev. Larry Ugarte' officiating. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service.
