Obituary Condolences

Victoria Jo. Hoffman

Norfolk - Victoria Jo Hoffman, formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, died May 30, 2014, in her home in Roswell Georgia, surrounded by family and friends. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Alan Lewis and Renee Beverly Ornoff Hoffman. She is survived by her sister, Melissa H. Bernstein, of California, and Allison H. Wilcox and her husband Jason, of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Josh Ahlzadeh, Brittany Bell, Aaron Ahlzadeh, Alexis Ahlzadeh and Jordan Wilcox; and her beloved dogs, Apache and Cochise.

After graduating from Emory University School of Law in 1981, Victoria made her home in Atlanta, Georgia. She practiced in the areas of construction and contract litigation and later became a certified financial planner. Victoria's passion, however, was Standard Poodles, having owned many over the course of her life. She was a member of the Poodle Club of America and the Four Paws Dog Agility Club, volunteering her time at many state agility trials. Victoria could be found most Wednesdays with her beloved dogs, Apache and Cochise, visiting with patients at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, as "her boys" were certified therapy dogs and brought much comfort, peace and joy to the folks undergoing treatment. Victoria was truly loved and admired in the dog agility community.

A graveside interment service will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating. The family will be sitting shiva at 2424 Ocean Shore Crescent, Apartment 402, Virginia Beach, following the service from noon until 7 p.m. A memorial service in Atlanta will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Poodle Club of America Foundation, Inc., Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation or Alzheimer's Disease Research. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.hdoliver.com
