Norfolk - Walter Daniel Lush, Jr. born on June 9, 1947 in Bridgeport, Connecticut was surrounded by loved ones during his illness before he passed away at home on December 21, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn Thane and Walter Lush, Sr., three sisters Marge Moll, Arlene Bain, and Mary Jane Nichols-Janello. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Carmencita Lush, nieces Linda Conley, Debra Lindy and Beverly Bain; nephews Glenn Janello, Scott Janello, Bobby Moll, Chris Moll, and JB Bain.
Walter was a motorcycle lover who loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his wife, friends and family. We will all miss his jokes, his story telling which he was so good at, but mostly we will miss his love and caring soul.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the US Navy in 1985 after 22 years of service. He then worked for 25 years in the ship building industry to include Newport News Ship Building, Northrup Gruman, and Huntington Ingalls.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 28 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Albert G Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
