Wirtie Nelson Brickhouse
Chesapeake - Minister Wirtie Nelson Brickhouse, Sr. "Nelson" passed away July 27, 2013. Born in Columbia, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Naomi Rouson and Johnnie Otis Brickhouse.
He was an I.C. Norcom High School graduate as well as a U.S. Army veteran where he served as a chaplain. He was also a minister at City of Deliverance Church of God in Christ.
Left to cherish his precious memories are one daughter, Bergina Isbell (Amir Isbell); three sons, Wirtie N. Brickhouse, Jr., Antwan Brickhouse and Alarius Brickhouse Perkins; three sisters, Claudia Pitt, Tina V. Lawton (McCline) and Linetta Brickhouse; five brothers, Otis Brickhouse, Samuel Brickhouse (Barbara), Daniel Larry Brickhouse, Sr. (Bernice), Walter Allen Brickhouse, Dennis Brickhouse; special companion, Ruth Lucinda Brickhouse; grandchildren, Monique Wilson, J'Pia Brickhouse-Isbell, Amir Isbell, Jr., and Ernest Perkins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11am Friday, August 2, 2013 at Garden of Prayer Worship Center, where Bishop L.E. Willis II is Pastor. Interment will be held at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at 4020 Lakeview Drive in Chesapeake, where they will also assemble one hour prior to the service. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Portsmouth is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com
